Canon: This is Canon!Rodney. Generally I'll say which season I'm setting him in for prompts and RP.

Spawn 'verse: This the first based around Rodney's first SWS post, where he's suddenly faced with the prospect of being the father to a set of three-four year old twins.

So I have a question for you. Feel free to not answer. But you're a beautiful, blond, intelligent woman...you seem to have things well in hand, etc...

What draws you to someone like Sheppard...John? Is it the pretty eyes, the permanently rumpled hair? The easy grin or the dorky eyeglasses?

I mean what is it?

This wasn't happening. This was not happening. He did not go through Hell and back, though all sorts of weird and terrifying experiences only to die here on Earth because the bank he'd come into today was being held up.

It was not happening. Though as he crouched down behind one of the island counters in the middle of the bank, he did note that the bank robbers? Assailants? The bad guys, in any case, were impressively armed. One of them was carrying something that looked like a close cousin to a P90 and wasn't that a heartening thing to realize? He got his phone out and texted John with the help i'm in imminent danger sign that they'd worked out for bars and other things.

He concentrated on breathing in and out slowly, hyperventilating would just get him killed faster. And Shep would never ever let him hear the end of it if he got killed for something as stupid as this. Or Ronon or Teyla or Lorne. And he didn't even want to know what Radek would do.

He could do this. He was Dr. Rodney McKay, genius in two galaxies. He'd survived Wraith, Replicators, the Genii, the Ori, and John Sheppard's cooking. He could get through this.

From the last three Friday prompts:

die, killing, demise

Continuing in this morbid vein, list the five most likely ways your character will die. Be as serious, gory or humorous as you like. For bonus points, add the LEAST likely way your character will die

The Five Most Likely Ways That Rodney McKay Will Leave This Earth Planet Galaxy Universe Plane of Existence.

1. Blown up by something that he or Zelenka or Sheppard were playing with. Because Rodney has never found something he didn't want to tinker with or try and make better in some way. He has to know, to see, to tinker. It comes as natural to him as breathing. He loves the discovery, the knowing, the AHA moment that means he has just saved them all *again* He's sort of addicted to it.

2. Killed on a mission. Too many variables to properly plan for, anything could happen. Anything at all.

3. Kidnapped by the Genii and killed after he's outlived his usefulness or made one too many wisecracks

4. Killed by the Wraith.

5. Blowing himself up after "retiring" from the SGC. It could happen, his hand could have slipped, and some things should just not go together.

The Single Most Improbable Way Rodney McKay Will Expire?

Rodney was wet. Having twins was exhausting. He almost couldn't mentally calculate prime numbers, that's how tired he was. It didn't help that one of them hated baths to the point of running away and hiding (thus giving his panicked father a heart attack when he realized he couldn't find him), and the other one loved them to the point of not wanting to leave the bath (thus requiring that her father come in and get her, soaking himself almost completely in the process).

He had no idea how their mother had done this for the previous four years. Maybe the fact that they'd incubated inside of her had given her some sort of edge that he didn't have. It hardly mattered at the moment. They'd been bathed and now they were asleep after having been read to (they were going through the Dr. Seuss books. He'd read Red Fish Blue Fish last night and they'd gotten four pages into Oh The Places You'll Go before they had started to drop off).

He was sitting on the floor by the small couch, resting his head against the arm of the couch, not caring about his wet clothes. He closed his eyes for a moment, enjoying the stillness.

Which of course is the exact moment that his earpiece beeped at him.
